Biography

He began playing piano at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Boulogne-Billancourt in 2003 with Gilles Bérard and then Marie-Paule Siruguet. At the age of 14, he obtained the Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales with distinction and was admitted to the Pôle Supérieur de Paris Boulogne-Billancourt in 2014.

In March 2015, he was unanimously received by the jury at the CNSM of Paris (1st higher cycle of Piano-Licence) in the class of Denis Pascal, Sébastien Vichard and Varduhi Yeritsyan. First Prize at the Montrond-les-Bains international competition in the “Young Talents under 26” section in 2014, he was also the winner of the Claude Bonneton competition in Sète in 2013 (Prize for the best interpretation of a contemporary work), Brin d’Herbe in Orléans in 2011, the Clés d’Or in 2010, First Prize Flame in 2009 and Opus-Yvelines with the special Philomuses prize.

He has performed with Orchestra in Mozart’s 25th Concerto and Bartok’s 1st Concerto. In 2015, he participated in the creation of “Nonagone” for solo piano and 8-saxophone ensemble by composer Alain Louvier at the SaxOpen festival in Strasbourg. In 2010, he also participated in a television series for the channel France 3 as “Jeune espoir” to celebrate the bicentenary of Frédéric Chopin’s birth, performed as “Jeune Talent” at the “Concerts d’Esther”, as well as at the Salle Gaveau. In October 2016, he will be invited to the “Lisztomania” festival in Châteauroux. Rodolphe Menguy also received advice during Masterclass from Natalia Trull, Jenny Zaharieva, Chantal Stigliani, Hortense Cartier-Bresson, François-Joël Thiollier, Jay Gottlieb and Bruno Rigutto.

Along with his piano studies at the CNSM in Paris, he continued his studies of counterpoint with Pierre Pincemaille in the second year of his Master’s degree, after having won the Harmony Prize in the class of Fabien Waksman in 2015. The same year, he also obtained the DEM for orchestration at the CRR in Boulogne-Billancourt.
