Trio Immersio

The Fondation des Etats-Unis is pleased to welcome back the Trio Immersio for a second concert in partnership with the Austrian Culture Forum.  The trio is composed of former FEU resident Mariam Vardzelashvili (piano), Vira Zhuk (violin), and Nemanja Stanković (cello). Their program includes pieces by Faure, Schubert, Ives, and Piazzolla.

About the Trio

Trio Immersio is a fresh, dynamic and charismatic ensemble from Vienna, that brings new life to the classic pieces of the piano trio repertoire. The trio promotes chamber music as a lifestyle and believes in full immersion into the sound world of vivid emotions, colors and ideas. Their particular authenticity and sincerity has gained Trio Immersio special connection with the audiences in Europe, North America and Asia. Founded in 2013 the trio won Suzuki-Enami Foundation prize at the 2013 Fidelio competition within two months of its existence and has been distinguished with a number of awards and prizes since, such as the Bank of Austria Arts Prize 2016 , the Jade Duc etc. Trio Immersio has been working with major concert organisers such as Jeunesse Austria, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation and has performed at prestigious venues such as the RadioKulturhaus Wien, Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein Wien, Royal Danish Opera, Flagey in Brussels CRR Concer Salonu in Istanbul, Schönberg Centre, Vivaldi Hall Vienna, Ancient Amphitheater in Bodrum, Philharmonie Opole, Kiev Philharmonie, Georgian National Parliamentary Library, Lübeck Rathaus to name a few. Trio Immersio has performed at prestigious festivals such as the 45th International Istanbul Music Festival, Austrian Spring, Kiev MusicFest and has recently completed a successful North American Tour with concerts in Washington D.C., New York and Quebec. The artistic mission of the trio is to observe the development of the Viennese piano trio through the prism of time and space, and explore how the genre developed and expanded outside of Austria and evolved from house concert setting to major concert halls. The exciting repertoire of Trio Immersio includes works from classical era to modern day from major Austrian, German, French, Russian and American composers. Trio Immersio members come from the Republic of Georgia, Ukraine and Serbia. They bring together musical influences of their homelands that blend organically with the Viennese tradition of chamber music playing. For the years 2018/19 Trio Immersio was selected to be part of the prestigious ‘New Sound of Austrian Music’ program of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will represent the musical culture and traditions of the country all over the globe.
