The Fondation des États-Unis is delighted to support the world-premiere of Songs of Death and Taxes by New York composer Patrick Michael Wickham, an art song cycle based on the collected poems of Dylan Thomas. Sung by American Baritone John Glann, accompanied by Nicky Purser (alumna of the FEU) and staged with an ensemble of mimes from the famed Lecoq school in Paris (including FEU residents Ximena Salmeron and Will Swyers), this concert blends new classical music with theatrical staging to create what can only be described as “the Blue Man Group meets art song recital”.
