The Hijabi Archives explores hijabi street style from 2000–2015 through photography and films. It situates the hijab in dialogue with self-fashioning and girlhood. In contrast to dominant Western discourses that reduce the hijab to uniformity, this exhibition reveals how Muslim women experiment with layering and colors to craft identities that are modest, expressive, and distinctly their own. By presenting the project as evolving research, the exhibition emphasizes process, conversation, and the ongoing negotiation of style.
