Rooms & Common Areas

The FEU has 274 student housing units with access to shared kitchens, free and unlimited Wi-Fi, study areas, a common lounge, a garden, and laundry facilities. Discover below the different room categories and common areas.

THE STUDENT RESIDENCE

Each stay at the Fondation des États-Unis offers a unique experience: a place where one creates, meets others, expresses oneself freely, and learns to view the world with openness and curiosity. The arts engage in dialogue with the sciences, cultures intersect, and talents enrich one another. Common areas are available to residents throughout the year, except in special cases (cultural events, rentals, filming, etc.).

Common Areas

  • Located in the east basement of the building, the Residents’ Lounge is a relaxation space where people can gather around a meal prepared in the large kitchen or in the TV area to watch a film, a game, or the news.

  • By exiting through the lounge door, this outdoor space can be used when the weather is nice.

  • On each floor, the shared kitchens are equipped with stovetops, a conventional oven, and microwave ovens. Recycling bins are located in the kitchens.

  • A self-service laundry room is available in the west basement and is accessible 24/7. It is managed by an external company.

  • Residents have 24/7 access to the ground-floor study room (Wi-Fi), except in cases of exceptional bookings (filming, book launches, presentations, etc.).

  • The small library houses several computers and a printer–photocopier. Printing cards can be purchased at the reception desk. Paper is not provided.

  • The Petit Salon is an Art Deco meeting room adjacent to the Grand Salon, available for group work, except when rented or used as backstage during concerts and performances.

  • The Chicago Salon is located next to the reception desk. This room is also available, except when rented or reserved for specific use.

  • The shared garden is reserved for the gardening group and for volunteers who deposit the compost collected from the kitchens.

  • Two soundproof music studios can be reserved for 2-hour rehearsal sessions. Each studio is equipped with a piano.

  • In this space, the Residents’ Committee can organize yoga, dance, and similar classes. The room is also made available for internal projects (such as performance rehearsals, etc.).
