Admissions for Student Residences

General Admission Criteria

The Fondation des Etats-Unis houses American and international students, as well as French students studying in English-speaking universities (between September or October 1st and June 28th). It also hosts international researchers for shorter stays (in July and August, but also at other times depending on availability). Rooms are assigned based on the candidate’s application and room availability.

During the academic year, the FEU accepts new full-time enrollments and readmissions, as well as international students transferring from other CiuP houses.

Detailed Criteria

    • Can provide proof of acceptance and registration in a Master’s program (or equivalent) or a PhD program for the upcoming year
    • Can confirm U.S. citizenship
    • If you are enrolled in a program in English but are not a U.S. citizen, please contact us to be considered

    Incomplete applications will not be considered.

    • Provide proof of solid academic standing at your home university
    • Be on good terms with the the FEU’s administration and proof of FEU involvement
    • Have a detailed plan for your studies in the coming year
    • Provide proof of U.S. citizenship (except for international students transferring from other CiuP houses or those enrolled in a program in English)
    • Have lived at the CiuP for fewer than 3 years (including in another house, e.g. in the case of dual nationality)

    Readmission is not automatic.

  • Short-term stays (between 7 days and 3 months) are open to all nationalities. One-month stays are given priority in the month of July.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • Be 18 or older.
    • Reserve 5 nights minimum (subject to availability). In June and July, a minimum stay of 3-4 weeks, or the equivalent pricing for shorter stays, is required.
