Resident Life

Life at the FEU & the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris (CiuP)

La Cite internationale universitaire de Paris (CiuP)

Young people come to live at the CiuP not only for its campus and student services, but also to meet students from all over the world.

In 1925, the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris was born from the pacifist movement of the interwar period; ever since, it has brought together young talents from across the globe. By encouraging camaraderie and intercultural coexistence, dialogue, and a greater understanding of our rich and complex world, the Cité international contributes to fostering peace on a global scale. The CiuP is made up of 47 houses, 22 of which are managed by the CiuP National Foundation.

The other residences are considered to be independent or “non-affiliated”, but they work closely with the CiuP when it comes to admissions, campus life, and cultural programming. The campus welcomes approximately 7,000 students and researchers every year.

The FEU's Residents' Committee

The Residents’ Committee organizes events, represents CuiP residents in dealings with the administration, and participates in house community life. Its representatives are elected at the beginning of each academic year. Traditionally, it organizes a yearly Thanksgiving dinner, a Roaring Twenties resident party, dance and yoga classes, and encourages participation in sports tournaments at the CiuP.

The Committee is also a part of the Bureau des Résidents (BDR). The BDR’s role is to dialogue with the Fondation nationale de la CiuP on all matters regarding campus life. It organizes events, particularly the Fête de la Cité.
