The first theater festival of the Fondation des États-Unis!

In September 2026, the Fondation des États-Unis will host the inaugural edition of the Transatlantic Theater Lab, a new residency and festival program dedicated to English-language theater-making.

In partnership with the Paris Fringe Festival, the FEU will welcome two professional theater companies: Assassins by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman, presented by The Big Funk Company, as well as a workshop exploring the great American classic Our Town, led by Spin Cycle Theatre Company.

Throughout the month, come discover the rich heritage of American theater through performances, a cabaret, and a participatory workshop.

September 9 - CABARET & GALA - Opening Ceremony

In partnership with ParisFringe, we are proud to host the official opening ceremony and festival gala for the 2026 edition.

The evening will feature performances from a selection of shows presented as part of ParisFringe, alongside our resident production, Assassins.

By attending this special evening, audiences will help support the productions of ParisFringe and the Transatlantic Theater Lab, while enjoying a festive buffet and an exceptional cabaret performance to celebrate the opening of this spectacular festival.

September 12 - CONFERENCE - Theater Practitioner Panel Discussion

[OFF-SITE]

As part of the Paris Fringe Festival at Ground Control, this panel discussion will bring together Paris-based English-language theater professionals to explore the challenges, opportunities, and future of the community.

Panelists will share their experiences on topics ranging from production and casting to artistic practices, international festivals, and creating theater in France. The conversation will continue with an engaging discussion and audience Q&A, encouraging the exchange of experiences and fostering collaboration within Paris’s English-language theater community.

September 18, 19 & 20 - WORKSHOP - “NOT THEATER”

Three sessions in English to explore Thornton Wilder’s Our Town from a new perspective. Open to artists, students, theater enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the creative process, this workshop led by Anton Bonnici invites participants to engage with the play through reading, discussion, and experimentation as part of the Transatlantic Theatre Lab. October 2 & 3 - PERFORMANCE - “Assassins”

Stephen Sondheim’s acclaimed musical explores the lives of those who assassinated American presidents. The Big Funk presents a work-in-progress showing of its adaptation, continuing its mission to build bridges between French and American cultures through theater.
