The Fulbright-HHW Scholarship

The Fulbright France Program and the Fondation des États-Unis have partnered through the Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship to fully fund, each academic year in Paris, the residency of one American musician and one visual artist.
Award recipients benefit from a privileged working environment, including a monthly stipend, free access to a studio, and active participation in the Fondation des États-Unis’ cultural programming, notably the 5th Floor Scholar Series festival.

The Fondation des Etats-Unis offers professional music and dance studios, an exhibition balcony, and a concert hall renowned for its exceptional acoustics.

Eligibility
The scholarship is open to students in visual arts (painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography) or in music (composition, instrumental performance, or vocal performance). Please see Fulbright site above for more details.

Education
Applicants are encouraged, prior to submitting their application, to contact specialists in their field in order to obtain an invitation to work under their supervision. While the Fulbright France Commission gives preference to affiliation with an accredited institution, projects supervised by private instructors remain eligible.
