Bartu Elci-Ozsoy, a 21-year-old Franco-Turkish conductor, violinist, and composer, is also a European Climate Pact Ambassador to the European Commission, co-founder and Artistic Director of SHARE-by-INOMER, one of the three Distinguished Friends of the UNICEF Île-de-France Committee, a Climate Reality Leader with The Climate Reality Project founded by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Arts Ambassador for the Jena Declaration (UNESCO Chair), and Artist for the Amazon with the U.S.-based Amazon Aid Foundation.
His community engagement and solidarity initiatives have led him to collaborate with renowned musicians, including the legendary Wayne Shorter, who stated:
“Bartu is an extraordinary human being, the kind of person we need in times that call for individuals capable of accomplishing exceptional things.”
Bartu made his triple debut at the age of 15, conducting Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 and his own First Symphony, while also performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. He made his U.S. debut in 2023 with concerts and charitable events in Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. For the 2024–2025 season, he was selected for the Carlos Miguel Prieto Conducting Fellowship as well as the Philippe Jaroussky Music Academy. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Violin from the Paris Conservatory, along with a Conducting diploma from the École Normale de Musique de Paris.
