Who is Ariela ?
Ariela Bohrod began taking piano lessons at the age of four in her hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. She continued her secondary studies at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan and moved to New York in 2013 to study with Pavlina Dokovska at Mannes College The New School for Music, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance on merit-based scholarships.
Her training, combined with the kindness of others and a great deal of good fortune, has enabled her to perform concerts in Europe, Asia, and throughout the United States. Although her musical repertoire spans a wide range of styles, her deepest passion lies in music composed from the early twentieth century to the present day—a musical landscape that, for her, transcends the mundane and rises toward the ethereal.
After a nearly two-year hiatus during which she performed aboard cruise ships with Lincoln Center Stage, she is delighted and honored to study with Suzana Bartal at the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot and to be a Harriet Hale Woolley Scholar alongside such brilliant young artists. Outside of music, she enjoys writing, making clothing, and setting off on long hiking adventures.
