Elise Logan

Elise A. Logan is a dancer, choreographer, writer, and community organizer from the Los Angeles area based in New York City. She is a Barnard College, Columbia University graduate in Dance and Interdisciplinary Race & Ethnicity Studies. Elise is passionate about interdisciplinary work utilizing dance, choreographic storytelling, music, research, and digital methods. Elise’s work explores world-building movement, archives, the supernatural + spiritual world, lineage, memoir, and memory. The year prior, Elise trained at Alonzo King LINES Ballet in San Francisco. She worked with the Merce Cunningham Trust, focusing on choreographic copyright, the San Francisco Ballet School and with advocacy group Dance Artists’ National Collective. Elise created and performed original works as a fellow/ Student Artist-in-Residence at the Barnard College Movement Lab, a dance and technology space, and in the Columbia Ballet Collaborative Choreographic Mentorship Program directed by Sidra Bell. Recently Elise was a scholarship recipient to Bill T Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, GALLIM, Ballet Hispánico, and BODYTRAFFIC programs, and was selected as a Choreographic Fellow by Sidra Bell for NextFestival, a collaboration between musicians and choreographers.
