Maya Kilburn

Maya Kilburn is a rising American violinist and recent graduate of The Juilliard School, where she studied with Donald Weilerstein and Catherine Cho as a Kovner Fellow. Originally from Muncie, Indiana, she trained for many years at the Indiana University Jacobs School String Academy with Mimi Zweig and is now a recipient of the Fulbright/Harriet Hale Wooley Award for the Arts in Paris. Kilburn has appeared as concerto soloist with orchestras throughout the United States and abroad, including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and Louisville Orchestra. Her performances have taken her to venues including Carnegie Hall and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as well as tours throughout South America, Central America, and Japan.

A passionate advocate for community engagement through music, she has performed with organizations supporting food insecurity, immigrant communities, and youth arts education. As a Gluck Community Service Fellow at Juilliard, she brought performances to hospitals, care centers, and community organizations across NYC. Alongside her solo career, Kilburn is an active chamber musician, educator, and mentor, and has appeared with ensembles including the New York Philharmonic and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
