In December, Street Art invites itself in the gallery of the Fondation des Etats-Unis with the label Bitume. This surprising exhibition offers a panel of works representing the know-how and culture of the genre. The label’s artists will also create frescoes in a basement corridor and various common spaces to the delight of the FEU’s residents and visitors. The Bitumen label

The Bitumen Label

Founded by engineers, Bitume wishes to combine the artistic and the technical to give life to original projects and to surprise the public. Since its creation in 2016, the Bitume label (formerly The Wall) has been highlighting the work of urban artists through 3 main axes: the management of artistic projects for local authorities and companies, the creation of cultural events and the sale of craft products derived from French know-how.

The Artists

Azed is a graphic illustrator from Lyon, working on several different supports: from pencil to vector, from canvas to screen. Geometry meets matter and meaning is made by emptiness. Playing on gules, allegories and movement, the paintings will always have something to tell for those who take the time to read it. Y?not is self-taught, he paints daily in the street as in the workshop. Influenced at a very young age by the world of graffiti, he impregnated himself with it, seeking a harmonious combination between urban space and painting. Inhabited by his passion, he explored the techniques of street art, developing a predilection for stencil painting, loving its sharpness and precision, decisive elements for him. His models, unknown or famous, are chosen by what they reveal, their expressions, their experiences. It is the engine of his creativity.
