Ensemble IMAGO, in artistic residency at FEU, is collaborating with choreographer Charlotte Hannah Colmant and FEU to present a program titled Transfigured Night, in which they create an interactive performance experience between musician, dancer, and audience. This performance aims to solidify IMAGO’s mission to collaborate with and embrace Paris’ diverse culture of dance, design, art, and more. IMAGO hopes to make concerts an exciting, immersive experience for their audiences. All the members of IMAGO have gathered from around the world to Paris to experience the blend of history and modernism that this city has to offer. We hope to further promote this idea with our combination of standard and new music performances.

About the Artists
Praised as “an artist with an already expanding reputation and a great future” (The Well-Tempered Ear); cellist Andrew Briggs recently performed at the Festival Radio France Montpellier, Bridging Arts Music Festival (Nürmberg, DL); the Fontainebleau Festival (FR); with upcoming performances of Schumann’s Concerto (Manitowoc, US). Last season Andrew performed with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National d’Île de France, the Ensemble Calliopée (Paris, FR), and as principal cello of the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne (Rennes, FR). After studying at Juilliard, Andrew moved to Paris as the recipient of the Harriet Hale Woolley Fellowship from the Fondation des Etats-Unis, and continued as an artist in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts.
Born in Brittany in 1989, Gildas Lemonnier began his training as a professional dancer at the age of 19 at the IFPRO in Paris. In 2012 he joined the Martha Graham School in New York where he became a member of the Graham II dance company. He then danced with the Martha Graham Dance Company and with Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, two companies with which he will have the chance to perform internationally. As a freelance dancer in New York Gildas also collaborates with many companies such as Rioult Dance NY, Bennyroyce Dance, Shawnbibledanceco, Bare Dance Company, Now Dance Project, Project44 and Christopher Williams Dance. Today, Gildas is based in Paris, he dances with the company Althea Dance Company and Ifunamboli. He has also taught the Graham technique at the IFPRO as well as in many studios such as Dansez Maintenant, Studio Harmonic, Micadanses. Gildas is also a Yoga teacher.
Born in Chitose, Japan, Sato Matsui is a Paris based composer and collaborator whose musical language draws influence from traditional Japanese sonorities as well as her training as a classical violinist. Her music has been performed in halls such as the Alice Tully Hall and the McClelland Drama Theater in the Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall, and the American School of Ballet, to name a few. She arrived in France with a Fulbright Scholarship to study the manuscripts of Erik Satie, and is currently a Starr Doctoral Fellow at the Juilliard School where she earned her Master’s studying with Robert Beaser.
American violist Deanna Petre enjoys performing in orchestral and chamber music settings in Paris and throughout Europe. She has performed with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and the Orchestre National d’Ile de France among other ensembles. In parallel, she is the co-founder of The Fearless Artist Mastermind, which offers career development for professional musicians. Deanna has degrees from the Juilliard School, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and CNSM de Paris.
Praised for his” innate sense of musical aesthetics in all styles, clarity of playing, his elegance as an interpreter.” (VociHarmonie); Paris based flutist Thomaz Tavares regularly performs, records, and tours with the Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Europe under the baton of Nicolas Krauze. He has most recently been a guest performer with the Fontainebleau Association, Ensemble Calliopée, and the Open Chamber Orchestra of Paris. He was a recipient of the Harriet Hale Woolley grant for the 2019-2020 year and is currently flute professor in the medieval town of Provins, France.
Japanese-American pianist Rieko Tsuchida has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. Some performance highlights include solo appearances with the California Symphony and Rochester Philharmonic, and concerts at Carnegie Hall and Salle Gaveau among others. Ms. Tsuchida earned her Bachelor of Music at Peabody Conservatory with Boris Slutsky and her Master of Music from the Juilliard School with Matti Raekallio and Joseph Kalichstein.
