About the Artists

Josephine Berry’s fascination with studying photography began at sixteen whilst studying the short course in Fashion Photography at London College of Fashion. Since then, she has completed a first-class degree in Photography at the University of Edinburgh and secured a place to study a Master of Arts at Paris college of Art in Fashion Film and Photography; further cementing her commitment to the medium of photography. Josephine creates intimate, sensual depictions of her subjects utilising black and white medium format film to depict her subjects and a tight crop that allows nowhere to hide within the frame. She is now bringing her approach to image-making in developing her editorial work; expanding into work in the studio and situating herself within the exciting world of fashion.

Colleen Surprise Jones is a first year Drawing MFA student at Paris College of Art from the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts, USA where she has been a practicing artist for over twenty years. At Paris College of Art, Colleen has been expanding her drawing practice by adding restraint to her otherwise expressive gestures through the use of drawing in limited space on digital media. Her pieces Blank 57 and Blank 58 are enlarged versions of the tiny drawings that were created in a reduced size text box on the screen of an iPhone with her pinky finger. After this exercise, Colleen produced large scale drawings with more expressive qualities, having been relieved of the sense of confinement.
